Coursing Batch is a through route, but it is also a residential street. Every day it is used by HGVs, farm vehicles, delivery vans, tradespeople, commuters, residents and visitors travelling to and from Glastonbury.

We all need deliveries, farms need access, businesses need reliable transport and people need to get to work. Our campaign is not about preventing vehicles from using the road. It is about asking everyone to help make it safer, calmer and more considerate.

        The atmosphere and overall safety are completely different when drivers respect the 20 mph limit.
        We salute and sincerely thank the 11% of drivers who already do.

A Message to Haulage Companies and Professional Drivers

Heavy Goods Vehicles play an essential role in all our lives. They keep shops stocked, support local businesses and deliver the goods, materials, food and fuel on which we all depend.

We recognise the important work professional drivers do and the pressures they face. Our request is simple: when travelling through Coursing Batch, please reduce your speed, reduce unnecessary noise wherever possible and remember that this is also a residential community.

We all need to use the road. This is not about preventing access or making life more difficult for businesses. It is about working together so residents, visitors, commuters and professional drivers can use Coursing Batch safely and respectfully.
