Our campaign brings everyone together to encourage safer, more considerate driving—creating a road that works for us all.

We all need deliveries. Farms, businesses, HGVs, local drivers and commuters need reliable access. Residents, pedestrians, children, older people, cyclists and visitors also need to feel safe. The answer is cooperation, compromise and respect.

Glastonbury is a remarkable place. It thrives because of the people who live here, the visitors who come here, and the farmers, traders, businesses, professional drivers, delivery companies and commuters who help keep the town moving.
Coursing Batch plays an important part in that. It is a road that connects people, businesses and communities, but it is also a residential street where people live, walk, cycle and cross the road every day.
Every one of us depends on this road in different ways. Rather than creating division, we want to build understanding. Rather than blaming drivers, we want to encourage safer driving. By showing patience, courtesy and respect for one another, we can make Coursing Batch safer, friendlier and more welcoming for everyone.

Many people dislike seeing Community Speed Watch volunteers in yellow jackets at the roadside. We understand that reaction.
Our group has no interest in hostility or confrontation. Our purpose is to remind drivers to be considerate and to help create a safer environment for residents and everyone visiting Glastonbury.
