Our volunteers give their own time to encourage safer driving before a serious incident happens.
Ordinary People Making a Difference
Our Community Speed Watch team is a small group of local volunteers who generously give up their own time to help make Coursing Batch safer for everyone.
Most of the team have full-time jobs, families and busy lives. The hours they spend at the roadside are not “spare time” at all—they are valuable personal hours freely given for the benefit of the whole community.
Here to help, not to criticise
Community Speed Watch is not about catching people out or blaming drivers. It is about raising awareness, encouraging safer driving and helping motorists recognise when their speed may have crept up.
By reminding drivers to slow down, we hope to prevent accidents before they happen.
Supporting everyone
Our volunteers work for residents, children, pedestrians, cyclists, horse riders, visitors, delivery drivers, commuters and professional drivers.
Every one of us deserves to travel safely.
A Special Thank You to the SWAN Teams
We would also like to recognise the dedicated SWAN volunteers whose contribution often goes unseen. After each session, vehicle details must be carefully entered into the SWAN system.
This is a meticulous and often time-consuming task requiring accuracy, patience and commitment. Without this work behind the scenes, Community Speed Watch simply could not operate.
